Matthew Flugence, 20, was ordered held without bond Wednesday, after a magistrate commissioner ruled there's enough evidence to hold Flugence on a charge of first-degree murder in the July death of Ahlittia North, 6.
Flugence allegedly confessed, telling a detective he encountered the child behind a Destrehan Avenue apartment building on July 13, where she seduced him, according to testimony.
He "snapped" afterward and stabbed her four times, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Detective Travis Eserman testified during a preliminary examination. "He said he just watched her die," Eserman testified.
Magistrate Commissioner Patricia Joyce of the 24th Judicial District Court, found probable cause to hold Flugence on a charge of first-degree murder. She declined to set a bond.
Flugence also is charged with sexual battery, for allegedly touching a 10-year-old girl on her genitals last year.
