NEW ORLEANS - Jury selection began Monday for the retrial of former New Orleans police officer David Warren. Warren was convicted in 2010 of shooting and killing Henry Glover behind a strip mall in Algiers four days after Hurricane Katrina.
Warren admits he killed Glover, but said he did so out of fear for his own safety. A federal appeals court overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial. The appeals court said Warren should not have been tried with four other NOPD officers who were charged with an elaborate cover-up of the shooting.
