The robbery happened on Nov. 28 at about 8:50 p.m. in the 800 block of Barracks Street when the two men approached a man in a parked car and asked for a cigarette, police said.
When the man handed out a cigarette, one of the suspects lifted his shirt to reveal a black semiautomatic handgun in his waistband and took the man's property, police said.
The suspects fled eastbound on Bourbon Street, according to the NOPD.
Anyone who can identify the men involved in this incident are urged to call Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111 or Detective Bryan Jones at 504.658.6080.
