State troopers have supplemented the ranks of local law-enforcement agencies over the last two months to help take more guns, drugs and wanted suspects off the streets, authorities said Monday at a news conference touting increased cooperation.
About 160 troopers joined local agencies statewide to seize about $6.5 million worth of narcotics; including roughly $3.5 million worth of drugs in the metro New Orleans area, State Police Col. Mike Edmonson said.
Of the 637 fugitives arrested around the state, 41 were in greater New Orleans, he said.
