Saying 4½ years is too long for someone to sit in jail awaiting trial, a Jefferson Parish judge ordered a Marrero man accused of raping a 10-year-old boy to be released from custody without bond Wednesday, after prosecutors said the victim's mother won't bring the child to court. Judge Ray Steib of the 24th Judicial District Court also agreed to the prosecutors' request to have the child's mother arrested to ensure she brings her son, now 14, to the Jefferson Parish Courthouse to testify against Ozaki Trice.
