Two longtime Covington police officers, including the department's former interim chief, are retiring this month, Chief Tim Lentz and Mayor Mike Cooper said in a joint news release.
Capt. Jack West, a 30-year veteran of the department, retired Jan. 1. He joined the Covington Police Department as an officer in 1984, and through the years has served as a training coordinator, public information officer and an instructor in many different fields.
He twice served as interim police chief, most recently from April through October after Cooper fired Richard Palmisano.
