Not much about the local violent crime problem seems to relate to the state capital of Wisconsin.
Madison, a city with nearly two-thirds the population of New Orleans, saw a total of three murders in 2012, which was about the norm, said the city’s mayor, Paul Soglin. New Orleans logged 193 killings that year.
“Every murder is a problem. The average is about three to four. It’s not to the degree of New Orleans,” Soglin said Wednesday.
