Former humanities group head blasts layoff of three

The recently ousted president of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities blasted the organization’s board this week for dismissing three more employees, a move he predicted will lead to the decline of the organization’s outreach and arts-based programs.

Michael Sartisky, who was terminated as the executive director and president of the endowment Feb. 11 after serving in that capacity for 31 years, said in an emailed news release that the board erred in terminating three high-ranking staff members.
