HARVEY, LA (WVUE) - Gov. Bobby Jindal said the state's jobless rate is improving, even as more skilled workers are needed. Jindal told hundreds of business and political leaders in attendance at the annual West Bank Governor's Luncheon Friday that 86,000 construction workers are currently needed.
"For decades, we didn't have enough jobs. Now our challenge is going to be to make sure we've got the skilled workers right here at home to fill those jobs, but we'd better get this right," said Jindal.
