Remi Braden, the combative mouthpiece for the New Orleans Police Department and a ubiquitous sidekick to Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas at public events, resigned this week after three years as the NOPD’s communications director.
Braden, the daughter of former state Sen. Hank Braden, who died last year, and a former press aide to convicted former U.S. Rep. William Jefferson, announced her resignation Monday. It was her last day on the job. In a farewell email, Braden made no mention of the reason for her departure or her future plans.
