The boards of Jefferson Parish’s two public hospitals once again will weigh in on which company they want to take over their facilities in the wake of a consultant’s report that neither of the two remaining contenders for the leases is financially sound enough to absorb both hospitals into its system.
In a presentation Wednesday to the Parish Council, consultant Josh Nemzoff raised concerns that taking over either or both of the hospitals could strain either Louisiana Children’s Medical Center or Ochsner Health System.
