WASHINGTON - Sen. David Vitter, R-La., who joined most members of the Louisiana congressional delegation in calling on President Barack Obama to seek congressional approval for military action in Syria, praised the president's commitment Saturday to do exactly that.
"I applaud President Obama for seeking explicit Congressional authorization regarding any strike on Syria, as so many of us had demanded," Vitter said. "This is the constitutional and the smart thing to do. I stand ready to return to Washington at any time.
