The shooting death of 1-year-old Londyn Samuels was a significanttragedy in a week riddled with violence across New Orleans. From Aug. 23-30, 12 people were shot and four of those victims died fromtheir injuries, according to reports from the New Orleans Police Department.
Those killed in New Orleans Aug. 23-30:
Tillman Hawkins, 33, was gunned down Aug. 23 while sitting in frontof his apartment in Algiers.
Billy McCormick, 22, was killed in a drive-byshooting Aug. 27 in the Lower Garden District
Londyn Samuels, 1, of Harvey was shot and killed while beingcarried by her babysitter in Central City on Aug. 29.
An unidentified 19-year-old man was shot in the head Aug. 30 while sitting in his carin Gentilly. (His name had not been released by Saturday afternoon, pending familynotification.)

Aug. 25 Male shot in the shoulder in St. Roch.
Aug. 26 Male shot multiple times in eastern New Orleans. Heis listed in critical condition.
Aug. 27 Male gunshot wound to the hand Lower Garden District.
Aug. 29 Londyn Samuels' babysitter shot in the back inCentral City.
Aug. 30 Woman shot in the leg in Gentilly.
