Construction employment for the Baton Rouge andNew Orleans metropolitan areas increased by three percent over the last year.
According to the latest monthly numbers releasedby the Associated General Contractors of America, between October 2012 andOctober 2013, Baton Rouge saw construction jobs rise from 43,000 to 44,300,adding 1,300 jobs to the sector.
For the same period, New Orleans metropolitanarea construction jobs rose from 31,700 to 32,700.
Both metropolitan areas ranked 157thin the country for percent change construction employment increases.
