NEW ORLEANS -- Ahead of frigid temperatures, the City of New Orleans has enacted its freeze plan for the homeless as the temperature or wind-chill factor in New Orleans is expected to fall to 35 degrees or below overnight.
Shelters will be opened at the following locations:
- The Salvation Army, 4530 South Claiborne Avenue – will accept males and females beginning at 4 p.m.
- Ozanam Inn, 843 Camp Street – will accept males only beginning at 4 p.m.
