Bundled up but still brimming with Carnival spirit, thousands of revelers descended on the French Quarter and the riverfront Monday to celebrate Lundi Gras, Fat Tuesday’s increasingly popular precursor.
In spite of chilly temperatures and early morning showers, numerous members of the Brown family huddled close together in lawn chairs Monday morning at the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club’s 21st annual Lundi Gras Festival at Woldenberg Park.
“We come out because it’s in our blood,” Aaron Brown said.
