In an effort to help solve more crimes, New Orleans police Wednesday announced the launch of SafeCamNOLA, a program they hope will create an extensive list of private security cameras across the city that investigators can use to help find footage of lawbreakers in the act.
The program is an expansion of SafeCams8, a list of private cameras and their owners in the city’s 8th Police District that can be used to help find footage of crimes in the Central Business District, French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny.
