Members of a city review committee gave a frosty reception Monday to a proposal to build a theme park, movie-production backlot, water park and retail component at the site of the former Six Flags theme park.
Before the proposal can be considered a viable option, committee members said, the company behind it will need to submit a more detailed explanation of its financial feasibility and the qualifications of the development team.
The panel said it will also consider a competing proposal to redevelop the site as a “world shopping center,” even though it came in after the original deadline.
