Darren Sharper could be released as early as Monday on a bond he posted in Los Angeles, despite new sexual assault charges he faces in Arizona and allegations against him in New Orleans and elsewhere.
Authorities in Arizona said Wednesday they won’t seek to extradite the former Saints safety on rape charges until his sexual assault case in California is resolved, but Sharper isn’t waiting for the Arizona officials to act.
His lawyers asked a Phoenix court Tuesday to hold a hearing to determine whether their client can be granted bail in Arizona.
